A new Volkswagen Beetle is on the way
The design was Inspired by the Baja Bugs of the 1970'sVolkswagen’s family of Beetles will grow early next year with the arrival of the 2016 Beetle Dune.
The production version of the Dune, unveiled last week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, is inspired by the Baja Bugs of the 1970s.
Appearance highlights include a front bumper with a large central air intake that widens toward the bottom, black wheel-arch extensions that flow into the bumpers and a large rear spoiler.
The Dune will be powered by a 1.8-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The coupe will go on sale in the first quarter, and a convertible variant is due in the third quarter.
